Mechanical toys

Mechanical toys for adding numbers, or quiz on multiplications, have been around for a long time. There are several types, such as the adder type, or the slot machine type.
Wolverine Toys made many models based on this, ranging from the simple adding machine to the Math quiz. Here are a few examples:

Other companies created similar product, such as this one from East Europe. You select a number on the left, another one on the right, and the machine will give you the multiplication result in the small window in the center:

A very old toy was called: Consul, the educated monkey. In this one again, select a number with the left leg, another one with the right leg, and magically the multiplication result is shown between the hands.

Sold by Sears, this other one was a quiz type, where the result of an operation was hidden under a small opening. Children had to guess, before opening the window.

Now a cheap version of the Wolverine slot machine, made in plastic, and in Hong-Kong. Guess the answer before opening the white flap on top:

And finally, the most complicated of all: the POL65681, Polish Electric Calculator. Was sold in the 70s or 80s, when this type of joke was still OK to make.
