Statistics
After collecting a certain number of models, I created a database with all known brands and models (known to me :-) ). Then I was curious to see how many models we had in each brand, and what type of calculators they were.
Here are some numbers :
Most models by brand:
The first lines are not a surprise. Anyone can tell you that they know these brands. Then we arrive in the not so well known brands. I added the CATIGA brand for fun, but it's a rather new one, and I was able to find more than 100 different models.
The UNKNOWN is when there is no manufacturer or brand, and most of these are chinese cheap models.
Type of Calculators:
- Electronic includes all calculators where we have either transistors or more complex PCA and CPU.
- Mechanical is purely mechanical, with no electrical connection
- Unclassified is just me being lazy. I need to work on these.
Type of display
- Again, unclassified is "work in progress"
- Mechanical display would be all the mechanical calculators, or printing one, when there is no other display
